About Mitzi
With over two decades of experience in the medical field as a respiratory therapist and founder of a thriving respiratory equipment business, Mitzi Rauers made the bold decision to sell her company in 2007 and pursue a long-held dream—finding the perfect small-town community to call home.
After countless weekends spent exploring the Highlands area with her husband, Hammond (co-owner of Franklin Ford in nearby Franklin), Mitzi fell in love with the charm, beauty, and spirit of the Highlands community. The couple eventually made their dream a reality, settling into their permanent home in the Highlands Country Club.
Since moving to Highlands, Mitzi and Hammond have immersed themselves in local life, becoming active contributors to the area’s vibrant culture and civic landscape. They’ve supported and served a variety of charitable and community organizations, embracing the town’s sense of connection and shared purpose.
Mitzi’s transition into real estate was a natural evolution of her lifelong passion for homes, design, and restoration. Prior to their move, she and her husband renovated and restored historic properties in Southern cities such as Charleston, SC, and Gainesville, GA. Her background in business, sales, marketing, and customer care—combined with a keen eye for design—gives her clients a distinct advantage in the real estate market.
Mitzi is proud to be part of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Meadows Mountain Realty, a firm she carefully selected for its values and reputation. In 2018, she partnered with Judy Michaud to form the Michaud/Rauers Group—an elite team that includes Tom Goldacker and John Muir. Their group has consistently ranked in the top 0.5% of BHHS brokers nationwide and was recognized as the #5 small team in North Carolina across all brokerages in 2021.
